Brighton Cricket Club prides itself on being a competitive and successful club, promoting enjoyment, participation and mateship during games and after match functions. Through the hard work of the committee, supporters and sponsors, we have been able to provide excellent training, playing and social facilities in, as many regard, the best place to play cricket on a hot summers day. Brighton Cricket Club fields four senior teams in the Victorian Sub-District Cricket Association. All senior teams play on turf wickets; the firsts and seconds at Brighton Beach Oval on the corner of South and Beach Roads, Brighton and the thirds and fourths at Donald MacDonald Reserve, in Keating Street, Black Rock. We welcome new players to the club at any time and at any level of cricket. Please see our contacts page for further information. Brighton Cricket Club also pays high regard to the development of junior players with twelve junior teams. We have five Under 12 teams, four Under 14 and three Under 16 in the City of Moorabbin Cricket Association competition. Games are held on Friday nights for the U14 and U16 teams and Saturday mornings for U12's. Prospective new players can contact Brian Pascoe on 0407 554 103 for further information. Our junior teams play at different locations throughout the Brighton area with the main junior ground at Whyte Street, Brighton. The club also provides an under 15 team in the Sub-District Hatch competition played in January each year on the turf wickets on our main oval, providing a great opportunity for junior development in getting a taste of turf cricket. Finally, the club runs the Milo Have-A-Go program for 5 to 9 year old boys and girls of primary school age at Brighton Beach Oval on Friday evenings from 5.00 to 6.30 p.m. We have great support from our senior players and parents of the children for the program which runs for 12 weeks – 6 weeks before Christmas and 6 weeks after the children go back to school in February. The attraction of this program is that the children can join in at any stage as it does not involve structured teams. There is no limit on the number of children who can participate and we have run the program very successfully over the last five years for approximately 60 children. Please see our contacts page for information on who to call for any of the junior or Milo programs.
